Keshorn takes Turku bronze

Keshorn Walcott produced his best throw in two years to capture bronze at the Paavo Nurmi Games IAAF World Challenge meet in Turku, Finland, yesterday. The 2012 Olympic men’s javelin champion landed the spear 86.09 metres.

Estonia’s Magnus Kirt was golden with an 88.32m throw, while silver went to reigning Olympic champ Thomas Rohler, the German throwing 86.33m to edge Walcott into third. Kirt is second on the 2019 world performance list at 89.33m. Rohler is sixth at 86.39, with Walcott in eighth spot with yesterday’s 86.09m effort. Germany’s Andreas Hoffman is at the top of the global list with a huge 89.65m throw.
